PECHS and Fuqua School students are currently participating in the Bridge Builders Program, an elective course held at the Moton Museum in partnership with Longwood University. Designed for juniors and seniors, the program strives to create a community of young scholars from both Prince Edward County High School and Fuqua School. Using the Moton Museum as an anchor, students explore the history of civil rights in Prince Edward County and connect past strategies of civic participation to the present.

Recently, the students presented their "legacy projects," which focus on addressing key community needs. These projects tackle issues such as clothing and food insecurity, mental health awareness, fostering increased collaboration between PECPS and Fuqua School, and creating a community garden. The ultimate goal is to take these projects from concept to action. We are incredibly proud of these students and the initiatives they have presented to address critical needs in our community.
