PECHS Alumni Panel

Prince Edward County High School (PECHS) recently organized a highly successful alumni panel, where ten distinguished alumni returned to engage with juniors and seniors. The event, hosted by the counseling department, provided an invaluable opportunity for current students to gain insights into college life, academic pursuits, and future career plans.  Panelists were current students at The College of William and Mary, James Madison University, Yale University, Hamilton College, William and Mary Law School, Virginia Wesleyan University, and Hampden-Sydney College.

The alumni panelists graciously shared their experiences, answering questions ranging from their college majors to their perspectives on the transition from high school to university life. The discussion also delved into various aspects of college living, including dining options, activities, and the overall atmosphere of campus life. The interactive session allowed students to pose additional questions to the panelists.

The primary objective of this activity was to empower current Eagles by allowing them to seek guidance from individuals who were in their shoes not long ago. The panelists emphasized the importance of active involvement in school activities and urged students to approach their final years of high school with seriousness and dedication. Prince Edward County Public Schools remains committed to organizing events that bridge the gap between high school and higher education, ensuring that PECHS students are well-equipped for the next chapter!
