Juniors: If you are registered for AP Literature in the fall, please see Mrs. Cole for your summer reading assignments. Stop by room 117.
Honors (Pre-AP) World Lit. II (Grade 10) students need to pick up the summer project assignment from Mr. Trump or Ms. Walker for next school year. Mr. Jenkins also has copies of the book (Hiroshima) in his classroom
Students that will take AP Statistics next school year should report to Mr. Lupas' room – 112 to collect their Summer Assignment.
There will be a volleyball interest meeting on Friday, May 18 at 2:50 in the cafeteria.
Attention, Seniors! Please stop by Mrs. Overstreet's room if you do not receive a letter from your English or government teachers concerning Thursday's Senior Showcase Assembly, Class picnic, graduation practice, and graduation. It is very important that you receive this letter.
Seniors, if the Guidance Dept does not receive a college acceptance letter or military enlistment notification by 3:00 today we will not announce your plans after graduation at the senior showcase. Students that have been accepted to Southside Community College do not need to worry about the letter because guidance already has the list of names directly from Southside VA Community College.
Seniors, you are expected to dress up for the Senior Showcase Assembly on Thursday, May 17. Young men, please wear dress shirt and tie and dress slacks. Young ladies, please wear either a dress or dressy blouse and skirt. We want to look our best on this very special day. Following the assembly, we will travel to Wilck's Lake for the Class picnic. Please wear your Class shirt to the picnic. You will have time to change before we board busses to the lake.
Seniors: If you have taken Dual Enrollment classes you need will need to request your transcript from Southside VA Community College to be sent to the college you plan to attend in the fall. This is the only way you will receive credit for your college classes.
Seniors: Ms. Ewing and Ms. Holcomb have not received many college acceptance letters. Remember to bring your college acceptance letter to the guidance office this week and if you received a scholarship from the college please bring the award letter also. This information is needed for the senior showcase.

Ninth Grade Tutoring will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Be sure to sign up by lunch on the day you plan to stay.
Attention students! The JV and Varsity Soccer players are selling "Prince Edward" and "class of" t-shirts to raise money for the program. T-shirts come in a variety of colors and sizes. You can purchase your t-shirt from any of the players. T-shirts are $20 a piece or $35 for an order of two. Please make the checks payable to Prince Edward County High School.

FCCLA is still selling cookies. We were able to get another truck in yesterday. We only have a limited number of chocolate chip, M and M and peanut butter cookies. First come, first served. Thanks for your support.

Wednesday stop by guidance during announcements to pick up an information packet to share with your parents.
ATTENTION SENIORS: If you did NOT have your formal and/or casual senior portraits taken by
Mrs. Layden, please bring in an electronic copy of your pictures to the Yearbook room, Room 99,
as soon as possible. If you have not been able to have your portraits taken, we can help you out so you
will be included in the senior section of the yearbook.
Seniors: if one of your blood relatives was affected by the school closing, please see Ms. Ewing in
guidance or Ms. Mosley in the main office for the Lest We Forget scholarship.

Important announcement for all 17 and 18 year old men
When your turn 18, it is your civic responsibility to register with Selective Service. Registering with Selective Service is a federal law and those who fail to register may be denied student loans, job training, government jobs, and driver’s licenses in most states.
You can get a Selective Service registration a card at your local post office or register online at www.sss.gov. If you have any questions regarding registration, please speak with your Selective Service registrar or your guidance counselor.
Seniors, if you need help with college searches, college applications, SAT/ACT registrations please stop by the college lab held every Tuesday in the library from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. GEARUP students you will need a resume and essay as part of your scholarship application, these are things you can start working on now.
